Jean Carlo Sandy, known in the artistic world as “Sandi”, was born in Oruro, Bolivia and currently resides and works in Chicago, USA.

Sandi is an artist who weaves the rich traditions of his Andean heritage with a cosmopolitan touch, bringing to life a vibrant and colorful visual expression. In his work, where Bolivian culture intertwines with his experiences in North America, Europe, and Asia, he presents a unique fusion of the ancestral and the contemporary. Sandi combines traditional Bolivian themes with contemporary figurative abstraction, creating a powerful visual narrative about identity and resilience.

His art, a dynamic play of color, form, and cultural memory, reflects a deep connection to his roots while addressing universal themes.

Sandy’s multifaceted career, which spans music, technology, and academia, enriches his art with a broad and diverse perspective. His installations and multimedia works invite the viewer to a contemplative dialogue about the essence of identity, intertwining the personal with the collective, the concrete with the metaphysical.
